Universal Studios Singapore (USS) & Johore Bahru

My First Entry! -  USS SINGAPORE

Our Plan is to visit the most talked about theme park in South East Asia, Universal Studios Singapore.
So, from KL, we (me and my colleagues) drove all the way to Danga Bay in Johor Bharu (JB). I kinda like Danga Bay though, it's very calm despite all the new development project going on along the coast facing Singapore. We checked in at Tune Hotel, in Danga Bay.  TIPS: Now let me tell u something, this is the worst budget hotel ever existed on planet earth. Like they charge you for everything u know. U wanna open the TV? extra charge, u wanna have the aircond 24-7? extra charge. and the room is extremely small, like u have to walk very slow to ensure you didnt kick the bed or the tv, like soo annoying. everything is extra charge.

But because we will be only sleeping there, so yeah, it's fine. This is the picture of the hotel and that's my colleague waiting for the bus to Singapore (and yeah they only have one table on that side, believe it or not).

So, the next morning we waited for the bus to take us to Singapore (USS) from Danga Bay. The bus came at around 8am i guess and we ride it to the Malaysia Immigration JB first. The queue was so long u know as people were going to work at that time. The officers there weren't friendly at all, like at all..not a smile, not anything. Even u say 'morning' to them, they were like 'fuck off bitch!'. LOL.

TIPS: Oh yea, this is the bus that we took (there's a lot of travel agents that provide buses to USS, so no need to worry as u can find them online everywhere):

After the immigration, the bus drove over the bridge (obviously) and reach Singapore immigration. Another long queue, longer than the one in JB. There's lots of tourist from mainland China though. for workers, there's another fast lane. So, the officer check my passport and look at me twice, i hate that kind of look. He mentioned my name to ensure it is me, and he stamp it. So, after the immigration, we get on the bus again and directly go to USS. 

We reach USS about 10am plus i think and we showed them the entrance ticket. The ticket is about 65 Singapore Dollar, which is about RM180 at that time. Lots of people for sure as it is a theme park and  lots of attractions too. So as usual typical tourist, we start at the big globe with the word 'Universal Studios' circling it. This is me, the thin girl. lol.

So, among all of the attractions, im gonna comment on some of it. The first one will be the Battlestar Galactica roller coaster. TIPS: Now if you just have lunch, do not, i repeat DO NOT ride this train. go somewhere else first, like shrek castle or sumthing. And also wear shoes, if u wear sandals they'll ask you to leave it there before riding, cos it'll fly for sure

The roller coaster was crazy, especially the Alien one. It spinning in 360 degrees, go into a tunnel n back up. one of my colleague ended up throwing up after the ride, like seriously. After the ride, you need to take the stairs down, and my legs were shaking even its just about 14second ride. The alien is blue in color where your legs will be hanging, and the red one is human, red one is slighty less crazy than the blue one...so ride the red one first!.  This picture below is the red and blue ride, with me like a stick in front of it, my legs still shaking at this time hoccay!

 Theres lots of roller coasters in USS, aside from the crazy battlestar galactica.  Another one that intrigue me is the Mummy Return. I like this area, they built it like u are actually really in Egypt, quite amazing. The trick is u will ride the roller coaster in dark. yea. pitch dark..well a lil light here n there. So, u have no idea that u r going to the right, left, down n reverse!, yes, reverse! .but this one was fun, i love it! you will get wet a lil..and lots of screaming..lol sounded so pornographic. Scream all u want. hahaha! . this is the Egypt pyramid wall.

One of the most amazing ride i had in USS is the Transformers 3D ride in SciFi City. my god, u have to try this. TIPS: it is a must im telling u! USS is not complete without it!. the ride was in 3D, so your surrounding move digitally and the seats move all over the place like u r actually in the robot hand (cybertron or bumblebee, cant remember) . jumping and falling and flying..this is the shit in USS! and me again below here in front of the 3D ride entrance.

Another digital experience in USS is Shrek 4D in the land of Far Far Away. This is a difference kind of digital where u actually feels it. At first they will show a 20min video, and at this point u will think 'wait, this is the 4D? wadafff'..BUT, then they will open the curtain and u can sit at the seats provided and put your 4D glass on and enjoy the freakin show. You will feel the spiders crawling at your feet, the donkey sneeze and everything else, like really feel it. that is 4D actually, where you were put in the animation..it's really weird and amazing at the same time. The spider part..so ticklish, unless you are claustrophobic, then its horror movie, hihihi :P  . There's lots of mascot, well the characters from movies like Puss in Boots, meow meow, looks like maori, my cat though, Pinnochio, Cleopatra and the Mummy's Guards (handsome and fit, oh myy) and others. Aaand then there's Jurassic Park Rapid Adventures, this ride u r gonna get wet. like the one u found in Sunway Lagoon. But it's round shape can fit about 6 people in it. TIPS: You are gonna get wet here for sure. They sell the raincoat for 3dollars, yawn so expensive,if you dont wanna buy,  you can choose to get wet and sexy (lol!) or maybe bring your own lil plastic raincoat. 

The ride is on water so u will float down the river while singing cry me a river..hihi..and then boom!, a waterfall, a river rafting experience..careful dont get thrown out the ride..haha..there's a safety belt okay. We shared the ride with an English old couple, they were like 'wow these girls really can scream'. We talked a lil..while screaming. 

Oh yea, u will also slide after the ride lifted, and its quite high! i thought they will just let it fall which is more scarier, but it didnt. and at the end of the ride, u will be wet even u wear a raincoat, facepalm. This is us, not knowing that we will 'take a bath' soon.

There's a food court there near Jurassic Park, The lost World in case u got hungry. obviously everything is overpriced. and a 'real' dinosaur named Rex which being captured by the ranger - indiana jones alike..hehe. It's a robot that look like a real T-rex. 

The Madagascar ride is mehh..okay la..pretty much for kids, but fun..also wet, floating in the river and alex the lion and the gang will appear on the sides with some audio and dramatic lights.

 Another interesting show, is how they make the movie with storm in the middle of the ocean . The studio literally moved! and you really feels like you are in the movie, which is really amazing. U will automatically paused and  be amazed, at least that was what happened to me. The fire and water all real yall..all real. At the end before exits, you will found yourself in Hollywood, ehehe..mini Hollywood with stages, performance, Sesame Streets! and all those stars on the road with celebrities name on it. We take few pics with the Sesame Street characters, mascots and they were so friendly and cheerful, of course that is what they are paid for..hihihi. This is us with one of em!

We enjoyed the performance of old Hollywood by 3 beautiful girls, it was so awesome! i love it!.

There's also mini Oscars award to take picture with or u can buy it if u want!. and yea i won one for Miss NoShame awards..lol! On the way out, there's lots of gift and souvenir shops that u can go in and buy some for memories etc. I got myself a Transformers water bottle and a mug, very useful :)

That was it and we took the bus, finished all of our SingDollar change for bottled drinks, hihi cos Singapore is so hot!. 

We got back at tiny Tune hotel and that night we went to JB Pasar Karat. I've to say, it's pretty interesting night market. They sell all kind of stuff and the street is quite pretty at night, like the photo below. The buildings surround it, really make it so unique. 

The next morning, we checked out and drive back to KL. But, we stopped at JPO first. TIPS: JPO is Johor Premium Outlet which sells seasoned branded stuff mostly. So compared to the actual store on the mall, it's much cheaper. Still, depends on item. 

I bought some Victoria Secrets and Cotton On shirts. My friends bought lots of stuff, haha.,,shopping and women can never be separated! The shoplots is pretty much like in this pic. Comfortable and well decorated. Cosy i must say. 

Annd with that, we drove back to KL and our short vacation JB- USS Singapore ends. Back to boring cubicle work for me, See ya in my next travellog! XOX
